Report Output
The Commission Accrual report provides a comprehensive list of commission details for sales representatives, primarily sourced from approved commission advice and project information. For each relevant sales commission item (often linked to a project or specific sale), the report details the total commission, amounts paid historically, and amounts paid or adjusted within the selected reporting period. It calculates beginning and ending commission balances for the period, offering a clear view of accrued commission liabilities.
The report breaks down commissions by sales representative. If a project involves a commission split between a primary and secondary sales representative, the report will show their respective shares. Monetary values such as total commission, payments, and balances are adjusted according to these split percentages. The output typically includes project identifiers, titles, and types, alongside various commission-related financial figures.
| Field | Description |
| Sales Rep | The sales representative associated with the commission. If a project has a secondary sales rep with a commission percentage, that rep’s share is reported as a separate line when the Sales Rep filter is set to ALL or when the secondary rep is selected. |
| Project No. | The project number associated with the commission. If the commission is not linked to a specific project, this field may be blank. This column can be used to drill down into project details. |
| Sale Type | Indicates the type of sale. For project-related commissions, this is generally the project type. For invoice-specific commissions not tied to a project, it reflects the invoice sale type. In some views filtered by a single primary sales rep, this column may appear blank. |
| Invoice Type | Indicates the type of invoice related to the commission. If the commission is tied to a project, this will show PROJECT. For non-project commissions, it displays the type from the specific invoice. In some views filtered by a single primary sales rep, this column may appear blank. |
| Project Title | The title of the project associated with the commission. If the commission is not project-related, this field will be blank. |
| Comm Total | The total commission amount calculated for the sales representative on the project or sale. If a split percentage applies to Sales Rep 1 or Sales Rep 2, this amount reflects that rep’s share of the total commission defined in the Commission Advice information. |
| Split Percent | The percentage of the total commission allocated to this sales representative, displayed with a percent suffix. This is derived from the project’s commission settings for Sales Rep 1 and Sales Rep 2. It defaults to 100% if no specific split is defined for the rep on the project. |
| Total Paid | The cumulative commission amount paid to the sales representative for this item through the End Date. This includes payments and adjustments made before the current reporting period Start Date and is adjusted for the sales rep’s split percentage. |
| Percent Paid | The percentage of the total commission that has been paid, displayed with a percent suffix. It is calculated as commission paid from the current advice record plus commission paid before the Start Date, divided by total commission. This percentage does not include manual adjustments included in Total Paid. |
| Beg Period | The outstanding commission balance at the beginning of the reporting period specified by the Start Date. If the commission was booked within the reporting period, this value will be zero. This amount is adjusted for the sales rep’s split percentage. |
| New Comm | The total commission amount from new commission advice records booked within the reporting period, from Start Date through End Date. This amount is adjusted for the sales rep’s split percentage. |
| Comm Due | The total amount of commission payments made to the sales representative during the reporting period, from Start Date through End Date. This amount is adjusted for the sales rep’s split percentage. |
| Manual Adj | The total amount of manual adjustments made to the commission during the reporting period, from Start Date through End Date. This value is taken directly from commission advice adjustments and is not modified by the sales rep’s split percentage. |
| End Period | The outstanding commission balance at the end of the reporting period. It is calculated as total commission minus payments and adjustments made before the Start Date, minus payments and adjustments made during the reporting period. This amount is adjusted for the sales rep’s split percentage. |
| Open AR | The total outstanding Accounts Receivable balance for the associated project. This value is derived from posted invoices that are not fully paid. |
| Company No | Indicates the company number associated with the commission advice record. |
| Branch | Indicates the branch associated with the project related to the commission. If the commission is not tied to a project, this field may be blank. |
