Purpose
Addresses may now be validated through the configured Address APIs for Canadian and US addresses. Various forms (see below) will have a button with a check icon next to the addresses allowing them to be validated. After validating the address, the user can decide whether or not to use the suggested address. Modifications can still be made to suggested addresses or the updated addresses can be modified and re-validated.
Status
As of version 23.02, this integration is in Beta, awaiting final testing and acceptance by customers.
Pre-requisites
- Q360 v23.02 or above
- User must have an API Key for CanadaPost, Avalara, and / or USPS
- Q360 > Maintenance menu > API Configuration needs to be set up prior to this integration (see below)
Setup
- Maintenance menu > API Configurations
- Add USPS API key and / or Canada Post API key to their respective tabs. Note: if these tabs are not visible, please reach out to your Q360 Admin for assistance
- Configure the Address Validation on the Address tab – select the integration to use for Canada and USA from the drop down menus
Functionality
On forms with addresses, a validation checkbox will appear:
Clicking the checkbox will open a Validate Address window displaying the Current and a Suggested address
From this window, you may
- Click Use Suggested Values
- Edit the suggested values and then click Use Suggested Values
- Edit the address on the left side and revalidate
- Close the form
It is important to note that each API provider (USPS, CanadaPost etc.) has their own requirements for address validation – most require an address and City and State combination or zip code
Avalara API Note: may be used for both Canadian and US addresses. This validation process requires at least:
- An address + city + state OR
- An address + postal (zip) code

- Purchase Order (Ship To Address only)
- Voucher (Payee Address only)
- Invoice (Bill and Ship Address)
